On Saturday, November 29, 2008 my nephew Trace Speh went fishing with his grandparents Steve and LouAnn Speh in the Merritt Island Refuge in Brevard County, FL. Steve snagged a bluecrap and decided to break it up for bait. Steve had just re-rig his pole with 8lb Andes line, a 12 20lb florcarbon leader and 5.0 laser circle hook. Steve hooked a piece of crab on and the bite was on. He seen his line going out and handed the pole to Trace who hooked up on a 46 redfish. It took trace an hour and 15 minutes to reel this big boy in. He now holds the family record for the biggest red caught. A couple pictures were taken and the fish was released to be caught another day. They were fishing in a G3 1548 Jon Boat.
